On a Mission: Buying fewer New Clothes

clothing-swap

My mission of not buying any new articles of clothing starts today.  There are so many alternatives, especially in LA, of great places to shop for womens clothing where you can help save the environment, not spend alot of money, and look great to.

Here are a few of the best places in LA to do just that.

For Swapping:

Give + Take Swap Boutique in Santa Monica.

Give + Take is a members-only swap boutique. For a low monthly fee, our members have exclusive access to a curated closet of clothes—a Rent the Runway for real-life, except you never have to return anything! With monthly private events, a diverse membership of professional women, and staff on-hand to share style suggestions, we’re more than a store—we’re a community of forward-thinking women. Website and address: http://www.giveplustake.com, Give + Take Swap Boutique 1740 Ocean Park Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90405.

St-Vincent-De-Paul

For Consignment and Used Clothing:

St. Vincent De Paul

We receive our merchandise through donations during families’ spring cleaning, college students moving out, and manufacturers and retailers looking to donate samples, and overstock items. You can expect to get an assortment of new, used, vintage, and one-of-a-kind merchandise.  Website and address: St.Vincent De Paul Thrift Store, http://www.svdpla.org, 210 North Avenue 21, Los Angeles, CA 90031.

Gift of Garb

This high-end consignment store in Eagle Rock.  They offer consignment for our larger buys of clothing and a buy it now option for smaller dropoffs, both made by appointment by either phone (323) 909 2291 or by email ([email protected]).
